So a friend and I were discussing fandom research (yes, again) and I don't think this poll's been done. if it has, can you show me where? :) Anyway, if you'd be willing to fill this out it'd be really appreciated. It's only a few questions and then you're done. And if you could pass it around, again, much appreciated. :D

[Poll #186611]

In other news: Justin's releasing a DVD?

But, like, there's no "none" option in the last question! I live in Sweden, I haven't seen them.

First, *hugs* for not having seen them.

Second, thank you for pointing out the lack of zero!

Okay. To Anyone Who Takes This: Since I can't redo this without losing the answers already posted, if you haven't seen them, pick the lowest number. Thanks. :)

and sorry to use your comment to make that announcement, but it's the place the most people will probably see it, being that it's at the top of the thread. :)

For accuracy, my answer to the last question is not entirely true, because I have never been to an nsync concert or solo concert, including club shows (have not had the opportunity) but there wasn't an option for zero. I did, however, see Joey in Rent, which could arguably be considered a one.

I also assumed this is Nsync-only, though that isn't specified until the third question. (My answers would not change, however, if it isn't.)

It is indeed NSYNC only, though any comments from anyone on other "popslash" concerts seen, merch bought, would be interesting. :)

*grin* well, since you're *asking* ;)
In terms of the poll, for BSB-type things, I've been a "serious" fan all along (I would say I'm on the mild end of "serious" but some would probably disagree - all albums, some singles, couple of videos, one messenger bag, one tshirt and 2 shirts from goodwill) , most of the merch I have is purchased, and er.. I think I'm still in the 5-10 range of appearances. Possibly 11.

Borrowing comment to say that I pretty much assumed like [livejournal.com profile] nafs did that it was for Nsync. If we're talking BSB too, then I was a serious fan before (albums and paid merchandise though no concert) and stayed the same after I started reading slash, though I now own more borrowed/downloaded stuff, of course. :)

Does it count extra if I came all the way from Australia? Because before pop fandom, I would never have contemplated travelling all the way from Oz to the USA, though that's more related to the wonderful pop people more than the wonderful pop boys.

And does intention count at all? Hee! Because I would have spent the money for the flight to Chicago + Justin club show tickets in a heartbeat if they hadn't sold out so quickly. We almost booked flights before we found out.

Dude. Justin's already put out one DVD (with videos and such). Heh. The second one, which will be the London concert, will be out in November, I think.

We can't get the DVD in Canada unless you order off of Amazon.

Came here via [livejournal.com profile] cathexys journal. To the best of my knowledge I have never actually heard an Nsync song before. Started reading popslash because somebody who's opinion I respect muchly quoted "Two Straight Guys in Wisconsin" as one of the best slash stories out there, and then somebody who's work in another fandom I am a huge fan of got sparkly and started writing popslash under the pseudonym [livejournal.com profile] nopseud...

I basically started out reading a bunch of Trickyfish stories that were recced to me, and they were good. Really really good. So I kept reading. Until a few weeks ago I didn't even know what several bandmembers looked like until I stumbled across some pictures and had a bit of a shock discovering that one of them looked eerily like a former partner. I might never be able to read certain pairings again :p

lol I didn't know what they looked like either. . . I kept having mental images of Backstreet Boys in my head, especially with Chris. I'm still not sure what Chris looks like--he looks so different in all of his pictures.

I filled it in, but my answers are basically rubbish, because the questions are so specifically worded.

1. I had zero awareness of *NSYNC before I started reading popslash, but not because I wouldn't be caught dead listening to boybands -- I have no opinion on boybands one way or another.

2. I now own three albums (four, counting 'Justified'), and I genuinely like two of them a great deal. However, I own hardly any other merchandise (one book which was on sale in the supermarket, one poster, two concert DVDs), and I don't watch interviews or other footage

4. I've never been to a concert or other appearance. I probably would if they ever toured again, but Justin is touring in the UK later this year or early next year, and I'm not going to that.

For the record, I've seen no *nsync appearance, live or taped. I dl'd a couple of Justin's songs which have appeared on my flist, but that's it. I just like the fic. *g*

Living in Korea: No concerts. *cries* But otherwise, I'd say I'm a moderate fan. I swear, if they'd just COME AROUND THESE PARTS, I'd be there.

Took the poll. I wanted to mention that people new to the fandom would have difficulty seeing footage, and going to concerts because of *NSYNC's hiatus.
